  • The bull calf ran away for two hours before it was eventually tracked down

This is the moment a bull sent a Turkish farmer flying and trampled him after he used a broom to get it out of a truck.

Hasan Yidiz took the animal to be killed at a slaughterhouse in the district of Sancaktepe, Istanbul, on Friday, November 19.

But when he arrived, he found the bull calf had managed to break free from a rope tied round its neck.

Unable to safely lead the animal from the trailer, Mr Yidiz opted to wave a broom at it  instead but the huge animal charged and sent him flying onto the concrete ground.

Mr Yidiz suffered a fractured arm and the animal ran free for two hours before it was eventually caught.

Video recorded by a CCTV camera shows Hasan at the back of his trailer pulling at the door.

He eventually opens it and finds the bull calf standing inside. Without the rope he has no way of pulling the animal out.

Mr Yidiz looks to his left and spots a broom before returning to the trailer, jumping up the ramp and walking towards the animal.

The bull calf takes one look at the broom and sprints forwards smashing directly into Mr Yidiz.

The contact sends Mr Yidiz flying into the air and crashing down heavily onto his arm and into a heap on the concrete.

The powerful animal slams down out of the trailer and appears to trample on Mr Yidiz before it runs out of shot.

Mr Yidiz meanwhile remains on the ground clutching his left arm as several people hurry over to make sure he is not badly injured.

Mr Yidiz was taken to a local hospital by witnesses where he was diagnosed with a fractured arm, reports DHA, a Turkish news agency.

He told DHA in an interview: 'The people there took me to the hospital.

'I also had a dislocation on my arm. They fixed it. But now I have a fracture in two parts of my arm.'

He said he was due to have surgery on the arm this week.

He said that the bull was not captured immediately, adding: 'After it escaped, we chased it for two hours to catch it. We finally caught it.'

It is not clear if the calf was eventually slaughtered.
