Here is a guide on the perfect dates for house warming or Griha Pravesh ceremony in 2021 and 2022.
What is Griha Pravesh?
A ‘Griha Pravesh’ puja is performed before moving into a new house. Griha Pravesh is made of two words – ‘griha’, which means a house and ‘pravesh’, which means to enter. The puja is done to get rid of any ill effects and Vastu dosha from the house. The Griha Pravesh puja also enhances positive aura at home by cleansing and purifying the space. Griha Pravesh puja is performed by the occupants of the house to seek divine blessings for peace and prosperity.
A Grah pravesh or a house warming ceremony, is performed only once for a home. So, it is essential to take care of every detail, to avoid mistakes. If you have recently bought a home, you will need to select the right date for the ceremony. In Hindu tradition, specific days are mentioned in the Hindu calendar (Panchang), which are considered shubh (auspicious) to enter a new home. According to Vastu Shastra, performing the Griha Pravesh puja on a shubh muhurat brings good luck into the lives of the occupants. It is better to plan the Griha Pravesh ceremony well in advance, to avoid problems in the last minute. Early planning can help you to lock in on the best Shubh Muhurat for your Griha Pravesh. Else, you may have to remain content with a normal muhurat, if you delay in finalising the date.
