THANE: The municipal corporation has presented a residential flat to a 14-year-old girl who lost her limbs in a 2018 railway mishap at Thane station, guardian minister Eknath Shinde announced on Wednesday. The girl, Rupali More, now 17, was pushed out of the running train on August 14, said Shinde, due to which she lost her limbs. Sena leaders had then rushed to her help following the mishap and assured to help her with her education and get her permanent home. A tenement from one of the Thane corporation facility at Manpada was allotted to the girl on Wednesday. The thrilled teenager said she aspired to be a doctor and was happy that she could own a flat in Thane. It may be recalled the girl had met with the mishap at platform 5 of Thane railway station which was then reported by the guard of a Kalyan bound 15-car local. It may be recalled BJP MP Kirit Somaiya had in a similar fashion rushed to the rescue of Monika More who had lost her limbs in a mishap at Ghatkopar several years back.
