Hyderabad: As many as 22,679 seats from various engineering courses in the Convenor Quota were vacant after the provisional seat allocation in the special round of admission counseling of the Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET) – 2021.
Out of 79,856 engineering seats in 175 colleges, 57,177 seats were allocated leaving 22,679 seats vacant. Of the total vacant seats, 21,467 seats were in private institutions alone. Interestingly, this time also 726 engineering seats were vacant in different university colleges.
Students who exercised web options in the special round of TS EAMCET Counseling were awarded provisional seats and a list was displayed on the website https://tseamcet.nic.in on Wednesday.
According to details released by the Technical Education Department, 1 21 480 candidates qualified in the engineering stream of the TS EAMCET and 14 919 candidates exercised web options in the special round of counseling. This year, 84,282 convener seats including 79,856 seats in engineering and 4,426 seats in pharmacy were at stake. Of the total seats, 57,400 seats, including 57,177 seats in engineering and 223 seats in pharmacy seats, were allocated to students.
In the case of pharmacy admissions for MPC current students, only 5.03 percent of 4,426 available seats were allocated to candidates.
As many as 689 candidates exercised their web options but were able to get seat allocation. Apart from this, 4 674 students secured seats under the economically weaker division quota.
Furthermore, this year, nine colleges, including one university and eight private colleges, could receive 100 percent seat awards, while one college could not attract even a single student. Students who have obtained a seat allocation order must register online themselves and make the payment on or before 26 November. If candidates fail to register online themselves or pay the fee before the deadline, the provisional grant order will be automatically canceled. Candidates must also report to the assigned colleges on or before 26 November.
