Shocking video footage shows three men and a woman viciously attacking a disabled man and tossing him out of his wheelchair before stomping and robbing him in the Bronx - a new low in a city where violent criminals target the innocent and most vulnerable.
The 39-year-old wheelchair-bound man sat in front of the Golden Deli on 267 East Tremont Avenue in the Mount Hope neighborhood when the four assailants approached, according to the video posted by the NYPD on Tuesday.
The confrontation began minutes earlier when the disabled man exchanged words with the woman, who is seen in the video wearing a white coat.
The woman then walked away before returning with the other three men in the video, who then confronted the disabled man.
Surveillance video shows the victim as he puts his hands over his face to try to defend himself as one of the men, wearing a blue bubble jacket, begins punching the defenseless man in the head.

The 30-second video then shows the woman and another man, wearing a yellow jacket with a black face mask and walking alongside a Citi Bike, as they join the attack. The three pummel the man to the point that he falls out of his wheelchair.
Within seconds, the man in the blue jacket grabs the disabled man and pushes him onto the sidewalk while all three stomp on the victim, as he tries to grab one of the assailant's legs.
The man with the yellow jacket snatched the victim's backpack, which was strapped onto the back of the wheelchair and contained the man's iPhone 13 as well as $800 in cash, according to police.
The suspects then fled the scene before authorities arrived.

The incident comes as violent crime has continued to escalate in New York City over the last several months, with assaults climbing 18.5 percent and robberies up 6 percent in September as the NYPD revealed it has made more than 3,400 gun arrests so far this year, Mail Online reported last month.
Stark data released by the NYPD in early October shows crime rose 2.6 percent overall in September 2021 compared to the same month in 2020, with an extra 243 incidents reported.
For the month of October, crime in New York City increased by 11.2 percent in October 2021, compared with October 2020 (10,118 compared to 9,095) while robberies increased by 15.8 percent (1,450 compared to 1,252) and felonious assaults increased by 13.8 percent (2,123 compared to 1,865).

The incident comes as violent crime has continued to escalate in New York City over the last several months, with increases in felony assaults, robberies and overall crime
Through October, overall index crime year-to-date has increased by 1.3 percent compared to the same time last year, 80,801 for 2021 compared to 79,772 for last year.
The crime wave comes as Mayor Bill de Blasio tries to lure tourists and office workers back to the COVID-ravaged Big Apple, with the data likely to deter many over personal safety concerns.
The biggest increase in September 2021 was for felonious assault - or assault with a dangerous weapon - which surged by a shocking 18.5 percent from 1,802 in September 2020 to 2,135 in September 2021, as New Yorkers have been plagued by random attacks in the streets of the city.
The data also reveals a concerning trend in other criminal activity, with robberies up 6 percent, car theft up 4.1 percent and grand larceny up 0.7 percent within the same time-frame.
Back on September 28, distressing video footage showed a mugger chase an elderly can collector through a Brooklyn neighborhood beloved by celebrities before punching her and trying to wrestle her bag from her.

Horrifying surveillance video shows the moment when Anthonia Egegbara allegedly pushed a fellow commuter into a train at the Times Square subway station on October 4
The surveillance camera footage - shared by the NYPD - showed the 65 year-old woman being chased down St Edwards Street and Willoughby Avenue in Fort Green, with the hooded mugger in hot pursuit.
She was seen running onto the road in a bid to escape his clutches, with the mugger - whose face was partially covered with a mask - punching the woman as he tried to wrestle her handbag from her.
Just days later, shocking surveillance footage taken October 4 showed a woman jump up from a bench and shove the female victim as a train hurtled into the station.
Anthonia Egegbara, 29, of Queens, was charged with attempted murder Tuesday over the incident. The victim Lenny Javier, 42, suffered a broken nose and chin but luckily survived.
This came just hours before a man shot himself in the leg in that same subway station.
