State logs one death, 50 new cases

Imphal, November 23 2021: The state on Tuesday reported only one fatality and 50 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 2146 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
The daily positivity rate was 2.33 percent against Monday's 2.55 per cent.
The lone death case was an unvacci-nated resident of Imphal East district and it took the total number of fatalities to 1963 .
Meanwhile, the active caseload rose to 687 out of which only 47 (6.84 per cent) are in home isolation.
There is no updated information on bed availability in different hospitals and Covid care facilities.
Out of the 16 districts, 10 reported fresh Covid cases on Tuesday with 20 Imphal West denizens infected.
In terms of positivity rate, Kangpokpi district recorded highest single day positivity rate at 9.5 per cent while Senapati district recorded lowest positivity rate at 0.5 per cent.
Churachandpur, Jiribam, Noney, Pherzawl, Tamenglong and Thoubal districts did not report any new positive cases.
So far, the state has recorded 95,607 positive cases and 1589 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month reported 1276 new positive cases and 42 death cases out of which 419 new cases and 10 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, the 50 new positive cases include 46 civilians (20 male & 26 female) and four personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose samples were confirmed at JNIMS (6) and other testing centres (44) .
The positive cases from among the civilians are from Imphal East (15), Imphal West (18), Bishnupur (3), Kakching (1), Chandel (3), Kamjong (1), Kangpokpi (2), Senapati (1), Tengnoupal (1) and Ukhrul (1) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
In the last 24 hours, 40 patients were discharged from home isolation (5), RIMS (1), JNIMS (7) and CCCs (27) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,25,007 (general population - 1,20,584 and CAPF personnel - 4,423) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,22,357 (general population - 1,18,007 and CAPF personnel - 4,350) and number of active cases is 687 (general population - 619 and CAPF personnel - 68) .
The recovery rate is 97.88 per cent.
A total of 726 D-type and 122 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours while 6401 vaccine doses were administered on Monday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated persons to 12,71,884 including 8,40,353 fully vaccinated.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (43,768), Imphal East (27,736), Thoubal (9473), Churachandpur (10,174), Kangpokpi (2785), Tamenglong (3283), Bishnupur (9197), Senapati (2241), Ukhrul (2986), Kakching (6426), Chandel (2354), Noney (1073), Tengnoupal (1075), Jiribam (1022), Kamjong (950) and Pherzawl (464).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (653), Imphal East (469), Thoubal (176), Churachandpur (162), Kangpokpi (62), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (191), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (43), Kakching (113), Chandel (41), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 40,286 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,682 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,53,607 tests per million population against the national average of 4,52,859 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.57 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 2146 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 2.33 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 8.88 percent.
