Influencer Thomson Sequeira Shines Light on his Travel Routes

Leading Insta Star Thomson Sequeira was a social media manager when he famously took a leap of faith to quit his steady job and focus on blogging as a career - specifically travel blogging. "Traveling has always been my passion and I knew, to become a good Instagram influencer, I had to follow it." Today he wants to return to his roots and take us along on a couple of short trips to some of the gems he has collected on his long travel blogging route.

Since he resides in the Maximum City - what is the one place he is super impressed with? "I love the palatial residences at the Skyline Edition of Kalpataru Avana, in Parel. I visited the lavish residences on the higher floors that offer panoramic sea views on both sides of the house, making a stellar sunrise to sunset observation point. The sundeck opens up to the cityscape and is the perfect setting for a quiet evening cuppa and even cozy parties. If this is not living the high life in Maximum City, I wonder what is," he sighs.

Thomson loves royal Rajasthan and "Jaipur was on my wishlist for a long time. I thought the perfect way to treat myself on my 2020 birthday would be a trip to the Pink City. As a travel blogger I suggest that when deciding on your holiday accommodation in India, there are a few things that need to be kept in mind. The place has to be calm, serene and away from the crowd, one that offers services that are discreet and caring at the same time, with spacious accommodation and offering freshly prepared local food that delights the taste buds. The Tree of Life Resort & Hotels check all the boxes."

Located on the outskirts, the property is peaceful and relaxing with a select menu of authentic Rajasthani food that is usually prepared from their home-grown vegetable produce. They also offer unique experiences like having a meal with an elephant and teaching at a school. Thomson reminisces "What I absolutely love is the uniqueness that these activities offer. The most rejuvenating experience at the resort was the massage and spa therapy - super relaxing, you don't want to miss it!"

But even an experienced traveler is spellbound sometimes. Ask him to retell such an experience, and you will hear about riding the world's Khardung La to reach Turtuk, POK's neighbouring village. Part of Pakistan since our independence, Turtuk was annexed to India in 1971 during the Indo-Pakistani war. "I was determined to see Turtuk for myself - no small feat, considering it's a full-day journey from Leh and includes a vertiginous climb over Khardung La, the world's highest motorable pass. The bike ride was expectedly hectic. We crossed the beautiful fields of Turtuk and realised what a gorgeous view of the Shyok Valley the village offers!"

He continues, "We stayed in a cute homestay and had no internet and WiFi for a long time. The locals are very hospitable and humble, and get super excited to see visitors. If you are okay with limited WiFi and electricity, few shops and a distinct local language, this largely self-sufficient border village offers the feel of another age. A must visit site, I'd say!"

What are his upcoming travel plans? "If you hold a gun to my head and ask me to plan a trip at a moment's notice, the destination will, of course, be Goa. Where else will you find a heady combination of sun, sand and endless sips and snacks - no two thoughts about it! So that's where I am headed soon." Does he have a place in mind to shack up in the country of amazing sunsets? "No, I have two," he responds with a huge grin, "Agonda Cottages and Akasa Goa."

Elaborating just a bit, he says "Both the properties are beach-skimming and lush, with several cute cottages nestled in a tropical paradise. I am looking forward to hit the hip beach bars and picturesque locales that are so beautiful that they lend themselves to blogging content seamlessly."
