And Charles Drury joked he was on a 'quick holiday' on Wednesday evening as he shared a snap of himself about to use a tanning bed before heading to the gym for a boxing session and heading out for a Caribbean dinner with pals. 

The 24-year-old was keen to shirk his personal woes as he took to Instagram to detail his day of indulgence with his snap at the tanning salon seeing him cut a casual figure in the snap as he sported a black hoodie and matching tracksuit bottoms.

The builder, who announced his split from Lauren last week, captioned the post: 'Quick holidayyyy'. 

He then shared his shot from inside the gym where he was boxing and then outside Jerk Pit restaurant where he was joined by pals.  

Although their split only became public recently, it was reported Charles and Lauren actually broke up several weeks ago.

The former couple are remaining amicable and revealed that they still see each other every day for daughter Larose, four months, while she was cared for in hospital.

A source told OK!: 'Lauren and Charles split weeks ago. They weren't compatible anymore.  

'She's really stressed as Larose is in hospital with a severe illness. She didn't expect him to announce the split while she's going through this really difficult period. He's had weeks to do this – why has he done this now?' 

'It's been such a scary time for Lauren. Her priority is Larose and making sure she gets better and out of hospital as quickly as possible.'

Lauren Goodger and Charles Drury's representatives declined to comment when contacted by MailOnline.

On Monday, Charles shared a snap of himself doting on Larose, and wrote alongside: 'love you more than you'll ever know.'

Showing her approval, Lauren posted some pink love hearts below, inspiring one follower to comment: 'make sure you stay friends it's so important.'

The TOWIE star responded: 'We are don't listen to headlines not 1 of us have spoken we see each other everyday cos of baby x.

'Yes last week was a hard last week with baby in hospital and the post but we always work through it x.'

Taking to Instagram, the former TOWIE star apologised to fans for Charles' decision to announce their split while their daughter is in hospital with a 'severe infection'.

Sharing a series of selfies showing her cradling her daughter, Lauren also posted crying emojis as she continued to nurse her daughter.

Prior to her series of late night selfies, she then shared a statement herself saying she was 'sorry' Charles had mentioned their relationship status while Larose is sick.

She wrote: 'I apologise for Charlie talking about our relationship status right now as our daughter is very ill and this is the least of my worries.

'I do not wish to comment on the situation at this time as there is so much more to it but my priority is getting my daughter better.'

Without commenting on the split, Lauren took to Instagram earlier in the day and revealed Larose has been in hospital with a 'severe illness'.

Lauren wrote: 'My baby has been in hospital for three days so far with a severe illness. She caught some sort of virus or infection, I think the bronchitis has come back worse.

'It's been the hardest two days of my life and me and @CharlesDrury1 have been with her swapping to be with her.'

So hard to watch your daughter be in hospital with tubes, drips, cannula, especially being held down she doesn't understand, it's broken my heart.

'I have slept on a chair well didn't sleep for 24 hours. She's my world and she's finally on the mend. Thank you @NHSEngland for your help you lovely people. What would we do without you.'

Lauren then shared a heartwarming video of herself sitting in hospital as she cradled Larose, and wrote: 'I've been by my daughter's side day and night! Bless her heart she's on the mend'.

The saga began when Charles confirmed the couple have gone their 'separate ways' but have vowed to 'remain civil' for the sake of their child.

She wrote: 'Only going to post this once, me & Lauren have decided to go our separate ways.

'Things must remain civil for the sake of our daughter, Lauren is great mum so when it comes to Larose we both have her best interest at heart so she will still see us both.'

Alongside the clip, she wrote: 'I've been by my daughter's side day and night! Bless her heart she's on the mend'.

Lauren first teased she was seeing someone new back in October 2020, later revealed to be Charles.

The couple announced they were expecting their first child together just three months after going public with their relationship.

Speaking to Closer magazine after becoming a mother, Lauren praised Charles as a hands-on father.

She said: 'He has been amazing, especially for a young guy - changing nappies, getting up in the night. He's even been feeding me my dinner.'

Discussing the loss on Channel 5 show In Therapy in 2017, she said:  'I was on a TV show that was quite intense. I had to try and perform when I was quite far gone. It didn’t last.' 

Lauren and Jake split for the first time later that year before rekindling their romance in 2015.

Joey, 31, was given a 16-year prison sentence for a violent offence but was released after nine years - Lauren and Joey split close to his release date.

In 2019, Lauren opened up about her two year romance with Joey, who was sentenced for drug related crimes, saying: 'My ex was my biggest mistake. I wasted two years when I could have been dating. I wish I hadn't waited for him to come out.'

Writing previously in new! magazine of her relationship with Joey, she said: 'I regret giving two and a half years of my life to someone who was in jail only for him to come out and not be what I thought. 

'I thought we were going to get a house, get married and have kids. I regret the time I've wasted.' 

 

Charles Drury: 2020-present

In October 2020, Lauren teased she was dating a mystery man, who was soon to be identified as Charles Drury, 23.
