INDORE: Indore reported yet another Covid-19 death on Tuesday - the second in Indore in a week and the third in the state. All three were fully vaccinated, and these are the first Covid deaths in more than three months. The state's toll has risen to 10,527, 1,394 of them in Indore.
The most recent victim is the 66-year-old mother of a military officer, who had returned from Jammu before being detected with the infection.
"She was admitted to the Military Hospital in Mhow on November 20 after complaining of respiratory distress, and tested positive the next day. She had a medical history of diabetes, hypertension, obesity, and sleep apnea," district contact tracing officer Dr Amit Malakar said. The victim's husband is also Covid-positive and the couple was admitted together to MH Mhow on November 20. He is still under treatment and is in a stable condition.

On November 16, Indore reported its first Covid-19 death of a fully-vaccinated person - it was the first death in four months. The 69-year-old was a diabetes and hypertension patient. He tested positive on November 9 during a routine test while being admitted to a private hospital. He was shifted to MRTB hospital, where he died a week later.
Three days later, the 54-year-old wife of a doctor in Bhopal died at AIIMS. She had taken her second vaccine dose in February.
Her brother-in-law, who is also a doctor, said she had no comorbidities, apart from mild obesity. MGM Medical College dean Dr Sanjay Dixit said, "Covid-19 vaccines prevent infection and fatalities, for sure. Fatalities among fully vaccinated persons are rare to arrest."
