Delhi BJP MP Gautam Gambhir has filed a complaint with the Central district police, alleging that he received a threat by mail from ‘ISIS Kashmir’. The cyber cell of the district along with the special cell has started a probe. DCP (Central) Shweta Chauhan said. “Security has been increased outside his residence at Rajendra Nagar.”
In a letter to DCP Chauhan, Gambhir’s PS, Gaurav Arora, said, “We have received an email from ISIS Kashmir on the official email of MP (Gambhir) sir today at 9.32 pm. The mail states death threats to the MP and his family. I request you to kindly look into the matter and lodge an FIR. I also request you to make adequate security arrangements.”
An officer told The Indian Express, “Gambhir received two emails — one in the morning and the other in the evening. In the second mail, the accused sent death threats along with a video, which shows Gambhir’s house. We found that it’s an old video shot outside his house. We have written to Google to get the IP address and other information of the system being used to send the emails.”
