Karimnagar: Karimnagar police raided pubs and restaurants and eateries on Tuesday night to continue their business outside of allowed times. Policemen led by Commissioner of Police V Satyanarayana carried out raids on bars and restaurants because they served liquor after 11pm at night and operated eateries after midnight. Attacks were carried out near the bus stop, SRR college, Kaman and Mancherial chowk areas. People who drank alcohol in pubs after 11pm were given counseling. Police have filed charges against five bars and restaurants for violating standards.
Special branch, task force, QRT, local police and cops from other wings also took part in the raids. Police Commissioner Satyanarayana in a statement instructed police officers to conduct similar raids across commissioner borders. They conducted raids based on information gathered by people late at night near educational institutions, women’s residences, shopping malls and bars and restaurants.
