The Greenville County Sheriff's Office has accused a 17-year-old of murder after a shooting that killed 28-year-old Marquiisha Lawrence in her bedroom on Loop Street on Nov. 6.

Dacorey Dashawn Massey, 17, of Greenville, has been charged with murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and grand larceny, according to warrants, and he is being held at Greenville County Detention Center awaiting bond.

Investigators believe that Massey and Lawrence were familiar with each other although a motive for the shooting is still under investigation.

Investigators said they learned that Massey stole Lawrence's vehicle after shooting her multiple times. The vehicle has since been recovered, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Massey was arrested Monday afternoon in Spartanburg by members of the Sheriff's Office Fugitive Apprehension Specialization Investigation Team along with the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office.
