NMDC Ltd(up 4.90%), 20 Microns(up 4.61%), Coal India(up 3.75%), Ashapura Minechem(up 2.95%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(up 2.76%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(up 2.25%), Pokarna(up 1.66%), Oriental Trimex(up 1.60%), Aro Granite Industries(up 1.13%) and Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 0.96%) stood among the top gainers.
KIOCL(down 0.16%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 86.8 points up at 17503.35, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 198.44 points at 58664.33.
JSW Steel(up 4.0%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 3.94%), Coal India(up 3.75%), NTPC(up 2.57%), Tata Steel(up 2.32%), Bharti Airtel(up 2.26%), Britannia Industries(up 2.25%), Eicher Motors(up 2.01%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 1.99%) and Tata Motors(up 1.93%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, IndusInd Bank(down 2.54%), Asian Paints(down 2.32%), Infosys(down 1.28%), Bajaj Auto(down 0.27%), Wipro(down 0.19%), Titan Company Ltd(down 0.15%), Maruti Suzuki(down 0.13%), Axis Bank(down 0.11%), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.09%) and ICICI Bank(down 0.02%) closed in the red.
