Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.07%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a positive note on Tuesday.

Shares of Mindtree(up 1.62 per cent), Larsen & Toubro Infotech(up 1.43 per cent), MPhasis(up 1.33 per cent), Tech Mahindra(up 1.25 per cent) and L&T Technology(up 0.54 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Infosys(down 1.28 per cent) and Wipro(down 0.19 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty IT index closed 0.07 per cent up at 35504.4.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 86.8 points at 17503.35, while the BSE Sensex stood up 198.44 points at 58664.33.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 ended in the green, while 10 closed in the red.

Shares of Vedanta, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Power and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Steel Cast, Latent View Analytics Ltd., Precision Camshaft, GSS Infotech and Raymond hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Nidan Laboratories And Healthcare Ltd., Destiny Logistics & Infra Ltd., Vertoz Advertising, Madhav Copper and Mas Fin Services hit their fresh 52-week lows.
