In a quirk of fate, 2 die of electrocution while stealing wire from electric pole in TN

Kanyakumari, Nov 23 (UNI) Call it as a quirk of fate, two habitual

criminals died of electrocution while attempting steal stray wires

from an electric police at Nagercoil in this southern district of Tamil

Nadu late on Monday night.

Police sources said the incident came to light today, when passers

by noticed two bodies lying near the electric pole.

The dead were identified as John Christopher (33) and his associate

Don Bosco (20).

After stealing electric wires from an unused old house near the Nagercoil

Corporation Office, the duo attempted to cut a long stray wire connected

to an electric pole, using a cutting plier.

Unaware that it was connected to a live wire atop the pole, both of the

suffered severe shock and were electrocuted to death on the spot.

The bodies were sent to Government Medical College Hospital at

Asaripallam for post mortem.

Further investigations are on.
