Wasim Rizvi’s image burned at Tolichowki for insulting prophet

Hyderabad: Local residents of the city took to the streets of Tolichowki on Tuesday to hold a protest demanding that the Telangana government take immediate action against Wasim Rizvi for making defamatory remarks about Prophet Mohammed. The protest was led by activist Asif Hussain Sohail.

The protesters hung and burned the Wasim Rizvi’s statue at Surya Nagar, Tolichowki. Asif Hussain said the entire community, including people from all religious backgrounds, took part in the protest.

Furthermore, he encouraged all communities to organize such constitutional and democratic demonstrations in Hyderabad and across India. “We must take inspiration from the farmers who stood by their words and sustained and won the protests democratically. “Such protests must not stop before the government takes action against anyone who insults people’s faith,” he said.
