ACT gets 19 cases, hospitalisations grow

The ACT has recorded 19 new cases of COVID-19, as virus hospitalisations continue to rise in the national capital.

The number of COVID-19 patients in hospital has risen to six, with three of those being in intensive care, two of them on ventilators.

The latest figures from ACT health authorities show 97.3 per cent of the territory's population over 12 have received both vaccine doses.

The number of negative tests in Canberra remain relatively high, with 1566 recorded in the 24 hours to 9am on Tuesday.

It comes after Canberra nightclubs were listed as recent COVID-19 exposure sites.

Figures have shown there are now 186 active cases in the Canberra community, while there have been 1948 cases since the Delta outbreak began in August.
