The Mass Effect Legendary Edition might be heading to Xbox Game Pass as early as this week, according to an apparently accidental listing on the Xbox Store.

According to Polish website XGP, and reported by VGC, the remastered collection of the original Mass Effect trilogy was briefly listed with the Game Pass logo on its box art. This has been an indicator in the past that an announcement was imminent, but also, in some cases, just an error (Batman: Arkham Knight never made it to the subscription service after having the logo on its box art previously).

Now Playing: History Of Mass Effect (Updated For 2021)

EA, publisher of Mass Effect, offers its own subscription service, EA Play, as part of Xbox Game Pass. Its vault of games is routinely updated with new additions, with most new releases finding their way onto the service within a year after release. With Mass Effect Legendary Edition having launching in May 2021, this timing might have been accelerated, despite the collection selling beyond EA's expectations.

Developer BioWare is currently working on the next iteration of Dragon Age, but it has also teased the next entry in the Mass Effect series. Earlier this month, a teaser image suggested a return of the Geth, with previous crew member Liara also expected to return (and potentially star) in the sequel. No release window has been shared.

The most recent additions to Xbox Game Pass have been strong, including It Takes Two, Unpacking, and Forza Horizon 5.
