Mexican operators hiking prepay data but cutting validity - IFT

The average amount of data included in Mexican prepay plans has surged by up to 442 percent over the past 5 years but validity has plummeted, according to a report from telecom regulator IFT. The data included in top-ups of up to MXN 50 has increased from 83MB in 2016 to 400MB in 2021, while the amount bundled with top-ups of MXN 100 and MXN 500 has risen from an average of 321MB to 1.6GB, and from 2.8GB to 6.3GB, respectively.
