JAIPUR: Karni Vihar police are searching for four unidentified men who barged into a shop and looted Rs 20,000 at gunpoint after thrashing the owner in Gandhi Path on Friday night.
In a brief video that emerged soon after, unidentified men are seen beating up the owner outside the shop.
According to the FIR filed by the shop owner, he was standing behind the counter of his shop located on Gandhi Path (west) when three men wearing masks arrived in quick succession.
They posed as customers and enquired about some medicines when two more suspects hurriedly walked in. One of them allegedly drew out a firearm and demanded all the money available in the shop.
When the owner resisted, they dragged him out of the shop and threw him on the footpath before one of the accused returned to the shop and ransacked the cash box. He looted Rs 20,000 and asked others to quickly flee.
The accused then ran to a white coloured car and fled from the area. The owner was admitted to the hospital for injures and received four stitches on his forehead.
According to the police, the owner is a resident of the Mansarover area and he was alone at the shop when the crime took place. "The accused are seen fleeing the car. We have set up a special team to narrow in on the suspects," said an official.
The entire loot unfolded in about 10 to 15 minutes, albeit, the owner said he could not recognize any of the suspects because all of them were wearing masks.
