Thane: 42-year-old killed in road accident

THANE: In a freak mishap, a 42-year-old man died after coming under the wheels of a container on Saturday in Majiwada area of Thane.
The deceased has been identified as Anil Kumar who was rushed to CSM Kalwa hospital and was declared dead on arrival.
The accident took place at around 3pm at the Majiwada junction, informed sources from the Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) of the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC).
The container was heading towards Gujrat from Panvel.
"The biker is suspected to have lost control. He fell on the road and came under wheels," said an official from RDMC.
Some of the onlookers informed the RDMC, following which one emergency tender was rushed to the spot and rescued the victim from under the container.
The biker was immediately rushed to CSK Kalwa Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
A case has been registered in connection with the accident.
The accident, however, disrupted traffic and congestion was observed for a while, said a source from RDMC.
