Rupee down 17 paise against USD

Mumbai, Nov 22 (UNI) The Rupee on Monday slipped by seventeen paise at 74.40 against the US Dollar due to rising demand for US Dollar by bankers and exporters, dealer at the Foreign Exchange said.

The local unit that fell by 11 paise to 74.34 in opening trade, lost further by 17 paise to finish at 74.40,

as compared to its previous close.

The domestic unit registered days high and low at 74.33 and 74.44 respectively against the US Dollar, the dealer added.
