Manipur, located in the north-eastern geographical location of India is one of the booming tourist attractions in present days. Many interesting sites located in the state are good to spend special moments unlike your past holidays.

Here writing about WHAT TO SEE and TO DO in one of the most demanded tourist locations in the heart of Imphal City. Well! KANGLA is a place lovingly visited by locals as well as travellers from various geographical regions of the world. Some of the sites in the complex of Kangla Fort are:-

WHAT TO SEE

KANGLA MUSEUM
- This museum is constructed in the Victorian Building, built by the British in the year 1901. Well-stocked museum is divided into two galleries and each gallery showcase many rare collections such as Portraits of Maharajas, Portraits of Heroes of Manipur, Portraits of British Officers, Archaeological Findings and war weapons.

SHRI SHRI GOVINDAJEE TEMPLE - The entire building was constructed with hand-made bricks and Burmese teaks. The original Govindajee Temple with its attractive architectural design captures the attention of the visitors. The temple with its complex was constructed during the year 1842.

UTTRA & KANGLASHA - Thousands of visitors wondered about Kanglasha as it is unique in the entire globe. The Kanglashas standing tally in the entry of UTTRA is one of the uniqueness of the entire Fort. Kanglasha is a mythological animal and it is our State Emblem.

INNER & OUTER MOATS - Travel the entire Kangla Fort along with the well speaking Tour Guides available there to know more about WHY constructed Inner Moat and Outer Moat with the same shape and size. Outer Moat is outside the fort and inner is moat inside the fort.

SLIM'S COTTAGE - The beautiful cottage painted white colour was constructed in the year 1901. Field Marshal Slim, commander of the 14th British Army stayed in this cottage towards the end of 1944. The whole complex offers scenic beauty and very peaceful.

Other attractive features are the Archaeological Museum, Brindabanchandra Temple, Sangai Yumpham, Lush Green Lawns, Manung Kangjeibung and Pakhangba Temple.

WHAT TO DO

BOV Ride: - This location offers Battery Operated Ride to visit the attractive places of tourist in the fort on a paid basis. Make sure to enjoy the ride, the ride will be conducted by a well trained and professional tour guide.

BICYCLE Ride: - You can enjoy a bicycle ride for an hour to explore here and there in the fort. It is one of the most interesting ways to discover the place.

CAFETERIA: - Various lip-smacking items are available in the cafe such as Bora, Singju, Kheer and Aloo Chop. Items available in the cafe are our indigenous foods.

Visit the place and enjoy the activities as per your available time. Kangla Fort closed on Monday of every week. Make sure to visit the place so that you can witness and experienced why the Fort is unique in the world and was described as the platform from where the Kingdom of Manipur was established.
