Cynthia Nixon fuels fan rumors that Miranda will come out as gay in Sex and the City reboot by filming LGBTQ+ rally scene for And Just Like That...
In a not-so-subtle fashion, actress Cynthia Nixon is further fueling rumors that her beloved character Miranda Hobbes will come out as gay in the upcoming Sex and the City revival.
Cynthia, 55, was pictured filming a scene depicting an LGBTQ+ rally for the new HBO Max spin-off show And Just Like That... in Foley Square, New York City on Sunday.
Fans have speculated about the character's sexuality from the very beginning of the series, and the topic was explored early on in the first season when Miranda posed as a lesbian to get ahead at her law firm.

However, it was Kim Cattrall's character Samantha Jones that would be the first of the four leads to have a same-sex relationship, when she dated Maria Reyes (played by Sônia Braga) in season four.
Cynthia, who identifies as queer and has been married to her wife Christine Marinoni since 2012, set rumors off again when she debuted a very different looking version of Miranda this year.
During the scene that was filmed on Sunday, Cynthia was seen bellowing with fellow actors as they acted out a protest scenario supporting LGBTQ+ rights.

The scene could be linked in a storyline to Broadway star Sara Ramirez, who will play new character Che Diaz.
The character has been described as a non-binary, queer, stand-up comedian that hosts a podcast that Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) is regularly featured on.
'Che is a big presence with a big heart whose outrageous sense of humor and progressive, human overview of gender roles has made them and their podcast very popular,' HBO Max said in a statement this year.

A clip from the show has already shown Miranda and Che having a one-on-one dinner, which prompted fans online to speculate whether this signaled a big coming out moment for Cynthia's character.
'They have definitely made Miranda gay. Grey, gay and fabulous! Here for it!' one excited fan wrote on Twitter following the sneak peek.
As Carrie says herself in the trademark voiceover narration for the new show: 'Life is full of surprises.'
