FOB Senapati organises outreach programme on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

Senapati, November 21 2021: Field Outreach Bureau, Senapati under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting on Sunday organised a one day Integrated Communication Outreach Programme (ICOP) on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav at Community Hall, Motbung village in Kangpokpi district.
It was attended by Kaikhosai Lhouvum, ex-executive member, ADC Kangpokpi district and Lunthang Lhouvum, secretary Motbung village as presidium members, said a release issued by FOB Senapati.
Thangboi Kipgen, Assistant Professor, Department of History, Rayburn College, Churachandpur also attended the programme as resource person.
Speaking on the occasion, Thangboi Kipgen stated that Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is celebrated to mark the 75th anniversary of India's independence.
He recalled the sacrifices made by Indian freedom fighters and the role played by moderate and extremist leaders of Indian National Congress.
He also recalled movements under Mahatma Gandhi from 1919-1947, whose efforts resulted in the achievement of India's freedom.
Thangboi Kipgen also highlighted that after independence, India has made great progress in the field of education.
With the introduction of RTE 2009, the right to life as stated in Article 21 of the Constitution, has become more meaningful.
The number of universities and educational institutions has also increased leading to increased literacy rate.
Waribam Urmila, Field Publicity Officer stated that the ICOP was organised by FOB Senapati to commemorate 75 years of progressive India.
The programme was moderated by A Sankhil George, Field Publicity Assistant.
As part of the outreach programme, Mass Theatre, a Private Registered Troupe under Regional Outreach Bureau, Imphal performed a drama.
Later, a quiz competition was also conducted.
