TMC leader Maharam Sheikh shot dead in Bengal’s South 24 Parganas

Trinamool Congress leader Maharam Sheikh succumbed to his wounds after being shot outside his home in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district on Saturday night.

Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Maharam Sheikh was shot outside his home in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district on Saturday night.

Maharam Sheikh was rushed to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries in the early hours of Sunday.

A case has been registered and police have detained one person. The main accused is believed to be absconding. Efforts are on to nab him.

Further investigation is underway to ascertain the motive behind the murder.
