New Delhi, Nov 21 (UNI) Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Sunday launched a fresh attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the farmers protest and said the countrymen were not ready to trust the latter on his announcement of repealing the three agricultural laws.
His comment followed the decision of the Samyukt Kishan Morcha's (SKM) to continue the protest, despite the PM assuring to repeal the three farm laws in the forthcoming Winter Session of Parliament.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, the former Congress president posted in Hindi, "People who have faced the brunt of false promises of PM, are not ready to believe his words now." He also used the hashtag 'Farmers Protest continues'.
On Sunday, the SKM held a marathon meeting at the Singhu Border and deliberated on the further course of action with regard to the ongoing protest.
The farmer union decided to hold another round of meeting on November 27, besides demanding enacting a law to ensure minimum support price (MSP) and withdrawal of the Electricity Amendment Bill. The SKM will also write a letter to the PM on the issue.
