Mapusa: By taking governance at doorsteps, issues will not be resolved, said Minster for Ports and Calangute MLA Michael Lobo on Sunday, and added, “Process needs to be simplified and work needs to be done.”
Lobo appealed to voters to elect a good person, who would work for them and said, “People will come and make promises and ask votes in the name of religion, caste.” He urged to vote for humanity.
“Vote for a person, who will be accessible, and it is necessary to get such a person elected. We will see new good faces in assembly, who will work for the people. In the last five years, there were no concrete questions from MLAs. Nobody wanted to question the government, simply work,” he said.
Lobo was addressing a gathering at the opening of election office of his wife Delilah Lobo, who will be contesting as an Independent candidate from Siolim constituency.
Sarpanch and panchayat members of different Siolim constituency panchayats were present.
Despite of heavy rains people from Siolim had gathered in large numbers.
Speaking further, Lobo said Siolim constituency has not witnessed development in last 25 years, and assured that actual development will be seen in Siolim in next five years once Delilah is elected.
“Development means good roads, uninterrupted water supply, better electricity supply, jobs for seekers, assistance for undertaking business, help to self help groups, providing loans and others as we have done in Calangute constituency,” he said.
