Pune, Nov 21 (UNI) The Maha Vikas Aghadi government will make efforts in a positive way to solve the problem of salaries, pensions and other demands of headmasters and teachers, said member of parliament Dr Amol Kolhe here on Sunday.
While addressing the diamond jubilee state-level educational convention of Maharashtra State Secondary and Higher Secondary School Headmasters Association organized by Pune District Secondary & Higher Secondary School Headmasters Association at Ojhar in Junnar tehsil of the district, he said, "The revenue of Maharashtra government has been affected in last one-and-a-half-years due to Covid pandemic, also, the non-receipt of goods and services tax and revenue has put a strain on the Treasury. Although this has shaken the state's economy, Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar has managed it properly."
All decisions regarding salaries, pensions and other demands of headmasters and teachers depend on the income of the state coffers, he said and asserted that the MVA government will try to solve this problem in a positive way.
While calling for eradication of social inequality, Dr Kolhe said that efforts should be made to inculcate the seeds of sustainable and constructive development in the youth for their betterment.
On the central government's decision to repeal the three agricultural laws, the MP said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the repeal of the agricultural laws after Opposition parties fought fiercely and 800 labourers were martyred in this struggle.
"Therefore, it has to be said that it came too late," he added.
