It was the soapie wedding party of the year when Bibi (Stephanie Baartman) and Jordan (Theodore Jantjies) celebrated their union on Getroud Met Rugby.
Having both experienced significant losses with their previous relationships Bibi and Jordan's love story is a testament that 'love conquers all.'
The couple eloped and got married in Cape Town privately and thereafter hosted a wedding party with their friends.
"The production team planned the wedding for approximately two months", says Michelle Nortjie, head of marketing and publicity of Getroud Met Rugby.
The wedding party was initially planned to take place at an outdoor venue, but due to Covid-19 lockdown restrictions, the production team had to make other plans. Pottie's (the local watering hole of the Stryders) was converted into a fairyland for the couple's wedding party.
For the wedding theme, the art department wanted to create a soft, warm atmosphere where Jordan and Bibi could celebrate their love for each other. Bibi's wedding dress was hired from Just Tonight Josephine. Jordan was styled in a classic black suit to contrast the whimsical colours and layers of Bibi's gown. The wedding rings were designed and made by Imraan at HMS Jewellers in Brixton, based on a brief of the character's personalities and relationship.
"It was an absolute treat to film the wedding scenes!" says Theodore.
"I knew how important the wedding was for Bibi, as a character, but also for Stephanie as an actor. I am 100% convinced that the viewers will see and feel the bond and love when they watch the wedding party. There will be tears of joy. Love is in the air!"
