Former Manchester City star and current Barcelona player Sergio Aguero is set to take early retirement from football after some serious heart problems were found in his medical reports.
Earlier this year in August, the Argentine national striker joined Barcelona in August as a free agent from Manchester City. After joining Barcelona, Aguero got injured in the pre-season games and was out for 8-10 weeks from playing any match.
Recently, in a La Liga match against Alaves on November 1, he had some breathing problems while playing the match, after that he left the pitch on a stretcher and was immediately admitted to the hospital.
As per multiple reports, the medical reports came negative and suggested him to leave the game for his better health. Ace sports journalist Fabrizio Romano on Saturday night confirmed that, Aguero will announce his retirement next week that he has also informed his teammates, close friends and Barcelona.
Aguero has played just five games for the Catalonia club and managed to find the back of the net once, doing so in the Clasico against Real Madrid at the Camp Nou. Earlier when Aguero joined the club, he had said that he wanted to play and spend more time with club icon Leo Messi, but due to financial crisis at the Blaugrana, he had to leave the club and later Messi joined French club Paris Saint Germain (PSG).
Meanwhile, Barcelona vice-president Rafa Yutse on Sunday responded to the retirement of Aguero and termed it as a rumour. He said this before Barcelona kicked off against Espanyol under the new leadership of club manager Xavi.
“I deny these reports. Aguero has three months to see how this anomaly evolves, they told us that he needed three months to evaluate if he could keep playing football or not,” said vice-president Rafa Yutse.
