KCR announces Rs 22.5 cr ex gratia for relatives of farmers who died in protests

Hyderabad: Prime Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao expressed condolences to the grieving families of nearly 750 farmers, who lost their lives during protests against the farm laws, and announced an ex gratia of Rs 3 lakh to each family of the Telangana government.

For this effect, almost Rs 22.5 crore will be approved and the checks will be personally handed over to the families by state ministers, he said.

He demanded that the central government also announce an ex gratia of Rs 25 lakh each to the families. The prime minister insisted that all cases, including rioting cases, filed against farmers and those including Disha, a Bengaluru woman who had supported the movement, should be withdrawn immediately without any conditions.
