29th person arrested in drug ring case linked to appliance store

One of 34 people indicted in a 30-count indictment related to a multistate drug ring was arrested Friday.

Officers determined Marcus Longus, 27, of Hagerstown, was staying at a Hagerstown-area hotel. He was arrested in the hotel parking lot without incident, according to a news release from the U.S. Marshals Service.

He is being held at Eastern Regional Jail in Berkeley County, W.Va.

Federal authorities allege the drug ring involved millions of dollars worth of drugs and proceeds, distributing large amounts of heroin, fentanyl, cocaine base and cocaine from Hagerstown into West Virginia. They also allege that the drug trafficking operation was headed by the owner of the Top 3 Sources appliance store on West Washington Street in Hagerstown.

The arrest Friday was made by the U.S. Marshals Mountain State Fugitive Task Force, Capital Area Fugitive Task Force, Hagerstown Police Department and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Five people are still being sought by marshals, the news release states.

They are Lenin Luna-Mota, 48, of Hagerstown and the Dominican Republic; Samuel Rose, 48, of Martinsburg; Chelsea Pinkcett, 33, of Martinsburg; Devron Brown, also known as “Country," 33, of Martinsburg; and Carlos Nunez-Arias, also known as “Charlote," 51, of Hagerstown.
