Telefonica to migrate 70% of traffic to AT&T Mexico by year-end

Friday 19 November 2021 | 12:06 CET | News
Movistar Mexico (Telefonica) will have migrated 70 percent of its infrastructure to the access network of AT&T Mexico by the end of December and intends to reach 83 percent of the population by June 2022, reports business site BN Americas, citing the operator's director of public affairs, regulation and wholesale business Ana de Saracho. Under the deal signed with AT&T in November 2019, Movistar adopted the virtual operator business model with a view to significantly expanding its 4G coverage and better competing with America Movil's Telcel unit.
