State joins observance of Naturopathy Day

Imphal, November 18 2021: State AYUSH Society, Directorate of AYUSH and International Naturopathy Organisation, Manipur branch jointly observed the 4th Naturopathy Day at Indian Medical Association (IMA) hall, Lamphelpat here on Thursday.
AYUSH director Dr A Guneshwor Sharma, who attended the event as chief guest, said that naturopathy has able to occupy a big platform in medical sector at the global level just like allopathy and homeopathy.
Yoga is being practiced in the country since time immemorial and naturopathy emerged after bringing Yoga to modern treatment with the main objective to give more benefits to the mankind.
Yoga-being a big component of naturopathy during the course of time has been helping humans to stay fit both mentally and physically and also to live longer, he said.
According to Dr Guneshwor Sharma, forefathers of the land used herbs and plants available in their surroundings for treatment before emergence of allopathy and homeopathy.
Humans suffer from different diseases during the course of time and there were more deadly diseases than the present COVID-19 which could not be cured or treated, he said, adding that lifestyle disorder diseases afflict many people but these diseases could be treated with the help of naturopathy.
He also said that regular Yoga exercise would help patients undergoing treatment with medicines of allopathy or homeopathy in a big way by keeping them healthy and fit.
He then urged people to consume fresh vegetables found in their surroundings and do Yoga exer rise regularly to prevent from different diseases.
The observance presided over by AYUSH additional director and State AYUSH Society member secretary Dr M Shyamjai was also attended by International Naturopathy Organisation (INO) Manipur branch member Dr M Rajkumar as guest of honour.
