DMK MP booked for murder of his employee at cashew processing unit, gets bail

Chennai, Nov 19 (UNI) The Madras High Court today granted
bail to DMK Cuddalore Lok Sabha member TRVS Ramesh in
connection with the alleged murder of his cashew nut factory
employee owned by him.
After his bail plea was rejected by Panruti Judicial Magistrate
Court, the MP approached the High Court for bail.
Passing orders on the plea, Justice M.Nirmal Kumar granted bail
after the MP submitted that he has been under incarceration since
October 11 when he surrendered before a Judicial Magistrate in
Panruti and was remanded in judicial custody.
He also submitted he also subjected to custodial interrogation by
the police.
Meanwhile, the Judge posted to November 23 for orders, a petition
filed by deceased Govindarasu's son seeking a CBI probe into the
incident.
It may be recalled that the Ramesh had surrendered before the
court on October 11 in connection with the murder of a labourer
working in his cashew processing unit.
Ramesh, who was named as the prime accused in the case,
surrendered before the, two days after the Crime Branch-CID
police slapped murder charges on him.
Ramesh was booked by the CB-CID police in connection with
the murder of Govindarasu (60), who was working as a labourer
in the cashew processing unit owned by him at Panikankuppam.
The CB-CID police had already arrested five people, all employees
of the cashew processing unit, on charges of murder of Govindarasu
of Melmampattu on September 20.
