Oppo has launched a new mid-range phone Oppo A55s 5G in Japan. It looks similar to the Oppo A55 unveiled in India months ago but there are a few differences. The major difference is that the Japanese variant is a 5G capable device. However, the camera module has only two sensors as compared to three on the Indian version.

The Oppo A55s 5G sports a 6.5-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) punch-hole display. The panel offers a 90Hz refresh rate with a 180Hz touch sampling rate and 96% NTSC gamut support. Under the hood, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. The phone has 64GB internal storage with microSD card support.

There is a dual-camera module with a 13-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The front camera on the phone is an 8-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and housed within the punch-hole. The whole package is powered by a 4,000mAh battery that should last at least a day with ease.

It will run ColorOS 11 based on Android 11 out of the box. Other noteworthy features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C port, Bluetooth v5, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The Oppo A55s 5G is priced at JPY 32,800 for the sole 4GB/64GB variant. The color options include Black and Green and are already available for pre-orders via Amazon Japan. The first sale of the phone will begin on November 26th.
