Imphal, November 18 2021: People of Lamlai AC and surrounding areas have expressed their dissatisfaction over the incomplete construction of Community Health Centre (CHC), Lamlai.
According to the locals, it was believed that the ruling BJP government would be able to complete the construction of the CHC, located between Nongada and Lamlai PS.
However, the government failed to do anything even when its terms is about to end.
The prolonged delay and neglect in completing the construction of CHC, which commenced at the time of CPI leader Pheiroijam Parijat (now deceased), could only be taken as the result of political games.
The people of Lamlai could have fared well during the pandemic had the CHC been fully functional.
The locals further conveyed that Lamlai AC does not have a full-fledged CHC.
The incomplete CHC is the most favourable and easily accessible for the people of not only Lamlai but also of Yaingangpokpi, Ukhrul, Khundrakpam and other nearby areas.
BJP's 'Go to Village' mission would be more successful if such incomplete structures are completed at the earliest and handed over to the people.
The locals then said that the CM was apprised of the present state of the CHC during a Go to Village' programme held at Takhel, Imphal East district.
If the construction of the CHC is completed, it would be highly beneficial to the people of Lamlai, 70 per cent of whom are involved in farming activities.
Thus, they urged the government to provide the gift of healthcare to the people of the area.
