Noida: At least 22 resident welfare associations have shown interest in a revamp and redesign of public parks in their localities, according to Noida Authority officials. The Authority had in August decided to redesign some of the parks it maintains to promote outdoor activities among children and organise cricket, football and other sports. It had approached resident groups and asked them to give feedback. “We will depute teams to study the nature of work required in the sectors and ask contractors to begin it. Once the parks and their locations are finalised in consultation with the RWAs, we will share the list publicly,” said an officer from the Authority’s horticulture department. Noida Authority CEO Ritu Maheshwari said the agencies and contractors will be shortlisted by December 15 and work on redesigning the parks will be taken up by December 25. Meanwhile, Noida Authority has decided to divide the city into zones and club civil and other works required together before awarding tenders. GNIDA has already done so in the past and divided the city into 10 clusters. It bundles horticulture works together before awarding orders.
