‘Mark my words’ tweeple react to old video of Rahul Gandhi when he predicted repeal of farm law

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday shared an old video, where he can seen assuring the farmers of the repealing of farm laws.

PM Modi on Friday morning announced that the government will repeal the three farm laws in the forthcoming Parliament session. Modi said that these three laws were formed in order to empower and strengthen small farmers citing demand from economists, Agri experts and farmers. But the farmers were not in favour of these laws and have been protesting since the bills were passed.

After that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi shared a video from January 2021, when he said “Mark my words, take it from me, these laws, the government will be forced to take them back. Remember what I said.”

The three farm laws were passed in the monsoon session of Parliament, the President had also given his assent to these Farm Bills on September 2020. Which were the Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020, Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020 and Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill 2020.
