Imphal, November 18 2021: Union minister of state for external affairs and education RK Ranjan has said that benefits provided for the poor and unfortunate people by Prime Minister Narendra Modi would not have, reached if BJP government is not there and the previous Congress government continued in the state.
RK Ranjan stated this during distribution of E-SHRAM cards processed with the assistance of BJP worker Japan at Kongba Laishram Leikai community hall on Thursday.
The event was organised by Kongba.
Laishram Leikai Youth Club.
Speaking as chief guest of the event, RK Ranjan pointed out that reason behind the distribution of E-SHRAM cards by Prime Minister Narendra Modi should be known by all.
When other political parties ruled the country before BJP came to power, poor and unfortunate people were intentionally denied government facilities.
When Narendra Modi was fielded as the Prime Ministerial candidate by BJP in the 2014 Lok Sabha election, he toured the whole country and got first-hand accounts of suffering of the poor people and eventually launched various social welfare schemes after becoming the Prime Minister.
So far, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched more than 180 schemes and provided benefits to the poor and unfortunate people.
Though these schemes did not reach beneficiaries of Manipur between 2014 and 2017, people of the state availed benefits of these schemes since the coming of BJP government, he said while maintaining that people of the state would not have received benefits of schemes launched by PM Modi had BJP government not come and the past Congress government continued.
According to RK Ranjan, Ayushman Bharat and CMHT schemes launched respectively by the central and state governments to provide financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh arid Rs 2 lakh in medical treatrhent were not for rich and wealthy people but for poor and unfortunate people.
The schemes were launched under PM Narendra Modi's vision of keeping every citizen of the country fit and healthy, he added.
The union minister of state also spoke about benefits of E- SHRAM card and appealed to eligible labour ers and farmers to get registered for the card to avail benefits which were never given by the past non-BJP governments.
The distribution event was also attended by Kshetrigao MLA Nahakpam Indrajit and Kongba Laishram Leikai Youth Club president N Lokeshwor.
