L’Oréal Professionnel announces the prestigious Indian Hairdressing Awards 2021

L’Oréal Professionnel, the no. 1 professional hair brand in the world has created an exclusive platform in India to recognize not only the creative talent of hairdressers but also the business of hairdressing.

The Indian Hairdressing Awards, now in its 4th edition, goes fully digital in 2021 by seamlessly transitioning the entry process and the shortlisting rounds to a digital- only medium! What’s more! The biggest hairdressing competition in India has added newness into its format by for the 1st time ever introducing a theme to the contest – that of French Balayage!

The biggest hair color movement in the world, French Balayage, earns its rightful place in the competition as the hairdressers have to create looks on their models which conforms to this 2-step technique that delivers seamless, blended, natural looking Balayage that is toned and glossy!

This year IHA is slated to be bigger and better than ever before.  This year too IHA has been divided into two main categories of awards – the Creative and the Business. The Creative Awards have three sub-categories of awards: The Style & Color Trophy, The Young Colorist Award and The People’s Choice Award.

\The participating hairdressers have to showcase their prowess in achieving the desired French Balayage results on a model of their choice. For The people’s Choice Award, the shortlisted looks will be open to voting by the end-consumers. In the Business Awards category, the subcategories are The Best Digital Marketing Award, The Best SoComm Salon Award and The Young Entrepreneur Award.

After the entries close, there will be a shortlisting of 16 contestants for The Style & Color Trophy and 12 for The Young Colorist Award who would directly qualify for The National Finale to be held on the 14th & 15th of December at Mumbai. These 28 French Balayage looks will then also become eligible for votes for The People’s Choice Award.

In the National Finale, the contestants would be expected to create a fresh French Balayage look on a model that would be provided to them during the event and the contestants are expected to do a real time consultation with the model and choose a French Balayage look that would best suit her skin tone and face shape – a true test of French Balayage expertise!
