New Delhi: So far, as many as 110 countries have recognized India’s Covid vaccines Covishield and Covaxin and agreed to mutual recognition of Covid-19 vaccination certificates with India, said official sources in the Union Ministry of Health.
A source with the Ministry said that 110 countries have currently agreed to mutual recognition of vaccination certificates and those that recognize Indian vaccination certificates from travelers who have been fully vaccinated with Covishield or approved by the World Health Organization (WHO). Covid vaccines.
According to the new travel guidelines issued by the Union Ministry of Health, as a fully vaccinated traveler comes from a country with which India has reciprocal arrangements for mutual acceptance of the WHO-approved Covid-19 vaccines, they will be allowed to leave the airport and have to monitor their health themselves for 14 days after arrival.
If travelers who are partially or not vaccinated visit India, they will have to submit their sample for post-arrival Covid-19 test at the point of arrival after which they will be allowed to leave the airport. They will have to undergo home quarantine for seven days and undergo retest on the eighth day of arrival in India and if found negative, they will have to further monitor their health themselves for the next seven days.
“Travelers coming from countries, excluding those at risk, will be allowed to leave the airport and must monitor their health for 14 days after arrival. This applies to travelers from all countries, including those with whom reciprocal acceptance of WHO-approved arrangements Covid-19 vaccines also exist, ”reads the new international arrival guidelines.
Of eight WHO-approved vaccines against Covid-19 in the list of emergency uses are two vaccines – Covaxin and Covishield – from India.
