Second suspect arrested in attack that hurt 3 veterans at American Legion hall in Kenmore

Police have arrested the second of three suspects in an attack that injured three veterans outside the American Legion hall on Kenmore Boulevard in Akron.

Akron police said Wednesday that Cody Sell, 19, was arrested and taken to the Summit County Jail. Michael Baratko, 25, for whom Akron police said they also have an arrest warrant, remains at large.

Akron police said they found and arrested Shaun Husk Jr., 19, while he was hiding in the crawl space of an attic Nov. 4 in a home in the 800 block of Garfield Street.

Akron detectives identified the three in the attack that injured the veterans, the department said in a news release.

The Oct. 30 incident was recorded on video camera. The video showed a small sedan driving up at the rear of the Legion hall, where one of the veterans was smoking a cigarette. Seconds later, a passenger got out and pushed and punched the veteran, with another passenger joining in.

Two veterans inside the hall saw the incident on a live video camera feed, and when they ran out to break up the incident, they also were attacked by at least three people from the car. The entire incident lasted about 90 seconds before the men in the car left.

Sell was charged with one count of felonious assault, two counts of assault, one count of resisting arrest and one count of obstructing official business, according to Akron Municipal Court records.

The warrant for Baratko is for one count of felonious assault and two counts of assault.

Husk was charged with obstructing official business and two counts of assault, according to police. He was booked into the Summit County Jail following his arrest.
