Gang of fuel thieves busted; four arrested

Ghaziabad: A gang of thieves was busted on Thursday with the arrest of its four members from Niwari area.
According to police, the accused were identified as Satte, Mousam, Khalil and Shekhar, all are from Ghaziabad.
Gaurav Kumar, SI and investigation officer, said that the gang used to steal diesel and petrol from parked vehicles on highways and other public places. “On Thursday, we received the information that some people were stealing diesel from a parked truck and immediately a police team reached the spot. Initially, the robbers tried to flee but we managed to arrest them,” he added. Police recovered 110 litre of diesel and one Maruti Eco car from their possession.
All the accused were booked at Niwari police station under sections 379 (theft) and 414 (assisting in concealment of stolen property) of IPC. They were sent to the judicial custody after producing them before the magistrate.
