Karnataka: Baby snake found in upma in Yadagiri district, 45 students fall ill

KALABURAGI : Around 45 students fell ill on Thursday after they had breakfast cooked in a vessel that had a dead baby snake, in Abb-Tumkuru village in Yadagiri district.
Around 60 students of Vishwaradhya Vidyavardhaka Residential School in Abbetumkur village were served upma for breakfast. Five students complained of nausea immediately after eating. Soon 45 other students who too had started eating began vomiting and feeling drowsy.
They were all immedialtely rushed to Yadagiri district hospital. Doctors attending on the students said they were all treated as outpatients and sent back to the hostel. Many of them panicked on seeing their friends fall sick, said a doctor.
Police have taken up a case for investigation.
