GUEST INTERVIEW: Victor Lee is the CEO and Co-Founder of Communiteer, the crowdsourcing platform that connects, engages and mobilises volunteers to tackle the world’s greatest challenges through virtual volunteering.

Communiteer. The company says it is "the only platform to facilitate ‘native volunteering’, where volunteers can find opportunities, collaborate online and record their impact; all in one place."

To put it simply, the social enterprise that's a combination of LinkedIn and AirTasker, but for social good.

Communiteer is the place where not-for-profits, universities, businesses and volunteers can come together to participate in online volunteering, share inspiring stories and converse about causes that matter to them, all while tracking impact against the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Communiteer is needed because not-for-profits are overworked and under-resourced. As someone involved in two NFP orgaisations myself, I can certainly attest to that!

Companies, universities and individuals are responding to an increasingly socially conscious society that wants to see shining examples of how business-for-good can change the world. This newly technologically facilitated collaboration helps NFP organisations tap into the expertise and funding of business to take social impact to the next level.

Indeed, as noted above, the NFPs I've worked with over the years are always in need of more resources, and are run thanks to the generous efforts of a team of volunteers who are also club members - but could definitely use the help of Communiteer, and I’ll be introducing those organisations to Communiteer through this article and interview!

Since Communiteer's launch in June 2018, they've collaborated with over 500 different charities, and have completed more than 120 projects, both online and at events.

Some of the projects are relatively simple, straightforward projects like designing a new logo, or putting together a new website, with Communiteer's efforts also ranging to much more strategic problems where they get skilled volunteers from different organisations to come together to solve a problem like diversifying income streams or tackling a business plan.

Communiteer wants to - and is - empowering people to be the change they want to see in this world, and they've done a lot of good already.

It's about gathering people, organisations and NFPs together, and Communiteer wants to bring all 25 million Australians on board to do more good.

So, to learn more, we spoke with Victor Lee, the CEO and Co-Founder of Communiteer to find out more. The video interview is below, and a summary of the topics we spoke about is listed thereafter - please read on!
