    Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 1.48% in a weak market

    The Nifty Pharma index was trading 1.48 per cent down at 13420.95.

    Agarwal said the global economy is showing clear signs of recovery. The second wave of Covid-19 is ebbing in India with total active cases at less than 20 per cent of May highs.
    NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 10:34AM(IST)on Thursday in a weak market.

    Granules India(up 0.51 per cent) and Strides Pharma Science(up 0.24 per cent) were among the top gainers.

    Aurobindo Pharma(down 3.31 per cent), Gland Pharma(down 2.47 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(down 2.2 per cent), Biocon(down 2.19 per cent) and Laurus(down 1.95 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

    The Nifty Pharma index was down 1.48 per cent at 13420.95 at the time of writing this report.

    Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 138.1 points at 17760.55, while the BSE Sensex was down 414.9 points at 59593.43.

    Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 5 were trading in the green, while 45 were in the red.

    Shares of Vodafone Idea, PNB, Trident Ltd, Tata Power and Vedanta were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

    Shares of Kotyark Industries Ltd., Lakshmi Finance, Manugraph India, Sintex Plastics Tech and Indowind Energy hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while One 97 Communications Ltd.(Old), Fino Payments Bank Ltd., SJS Enterprises Ltd., Nidan Laboratories And Healthcare Ltd. and RPP Infra Proj(PP)hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
