The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is temporarily suspending activities relating to the implementation and enforcement of the government's vaccine mandate for private employers with more than 100 employees after a federal court blocked the measure last week. "While OSHA remains confident in its authority to protect workers in emergencies, OSHA has suspended activities related to the implementation and enforcement of the ETS (Emergency Temporary Standard) pending future developments in the litigation," OSHA said in a statement on its website. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit granted a motion to stay the ETS on Nov. 12 "until further court order." President Joe Biden is seeking to implement the measure on Jan. 4 as part of its effort to contain the spread of COVID-19.
