The Packed To The Rafters star shared the news in a heartbreaking Instagram post on Friday morning.

Hugh and the 29-year-old banker got engaged earlier this year in March, after just three months after dating.
'In retrospect, having a first public relationship, that public, that fast, might’ve been too much pressure on us,' Hugh explained in his break-up post.
'Maybe it was COVID or quarantines or us working to hard (I take the blame for full responsibility for the working hours), maybe it’s dads death or all the above.
'For now we didn’t make it, but we tried very, very hard, I’m so sorry for us that it wasn’t easy and I’m sorry for the added pressure.

Bittersweet: Hugh announced their breakup on Kurt's birthday and penned a beautiful tribute to his ex
'Lots learned, the heartache is heavy, but zero regrets for the greatest love.'
Hugh announced the couple's split on Kurt's birthday, and penned a beautiful tribute to his ex.
'Today, I should’ve been landing in a couple of hours in Sydney to surprise my best friend,' the actor wrote.
'Happy Birthday to one of the most beautiful people on earth inside and out @kurtroberts_ you are an angel and I wish you all to the love and happiness you deserve.

Beautiful words: Hugh described his ex as one of the kindest, most caring and beautiful humans he has ever met and thanked him for his support through some very tough times
'As you know, a year ago I came out as a human, a two weeks; later got cancelled, then in the darkness found light in Kurt.
'I did a horrific job when I proposed to you on the couch at our home… So I tried to make up for it and surprised someone who deserved better.'
Hugh described his ex as one of the kindest, most caring and beautiful humans the star has ever met and thanked him for his support through some very tough times.
The House Husbands star has had an incredibly difficult year, including the death of his father, who passed away aged 76 after a battle with cancer in May.
'The point is Kurt is incredibly kind, someone who is earnestly caring and helped me through a very tough time,' Hugh wrote.

Whirlwind romance: Hugh proposed to Kurt during the first night of the actor's new Adelaide Fringe Festival dance show in March
'I didn’t think it would be right to not say Happy Birthday to an amazing and caring human, but also not be false cause whether it’s right or wrong; transparency is what I promised you all.
'Bless you dear Kurt you beautiful human and thank God for birthday today, without you I wouldn’t be. X love shoosie.'
Hugh proposed to Kurt during the first night of the actor's new Adelaide Fringe Festival dance show back in March.
At the time, the loved-up pair shared a public embrace and a kiss before a besotted Hugh ran back on stage and said: 'I just got engaged!'
Meanwhile, Hugh came out as nonbinary in June, revealing that they're attracted to both men and women.
The actor - who 'doesn't label themselves as anything but human' - confirmed that they weren't opposed to falling in love with a female in an interview with The Sydney Morning Herald.

Separated: Hugh is currently in LA and was partying with Paris Hilton on Halloween
'I wasn't opposed to meeting a girl, but it just so happened I met a guy,' Hugh said in August, adding they were 'ready for a serious relationship' before meeting Kurt.
'I've dated both genders. I don't label myself as anything but human.'
Speaking of their first meeting, Hugh explained that they met Kurt in December 2020 while attending a party at Baz Lurhmann's old house.
'I saw him and really liked him. He knew who I was and thought I was in the too-hard basket, so played a little hard to get,' Hugh laughed.
Hugh told the publication that although they met another 'nice' guy at the party, they decided to meet Kurt for a drink - and the couple have been inseparable since.
It comes just weeks after Hugh was forced to defend their gender identity after coming out as a 'nonbinary human'.
Nonbinary people don't categorise their gender identify as either male or female and often go by the pronouns they/them.
The Logie winning actor was criticised by somebody online who took a dig at them by posting an article titled, 'How the nonbinary trend hurts those with real gender dysphoria'.
The article accuses celebrities of jumping on a gender bandwagon by coming out as nonbinary for publicity.
'We have celebrities who are capitalising on gender's moment in the sun,' it reads.
'If someone has a large public following, and they announce they are nonbinary, it is hard to believe that doing so is anything but a publicity stunt to get people talking about them.

Comfort: He is no doubt finding comfort in his friends - including Aussie actress Rebel Wilson
'Identifying as nonbinary provides social and literal, currency; and public figures who 'come out' as nonbinary obtain adulation and newfound relevance as every media publication in the world hails them for their strength as a trailblazer.'
Hitting back, Hugh reposted the article on Instagram Stories and wrote: 'Read what you posted... think about me as a REAL human and then educate yourself.'
The star added: 'You can't imagine. Obviously.'
